The +Vilatte Institute was founded in 1992 on the 100th anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Archbishop Joseph René Vilatte. The Institute is incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Missouri and has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 organization eligible to receive tax-deductible donations. Vilatte Institute is a ministry within the Ecumenical Catholic Church+USA.
The Vilatte Institute promotes the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy which are acts of love and charity based on the teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the four Gospels of the Holy Bible. By helping within its capability those in physical and spiritual need in a variety of ways, the Institute promotes the love and concern of God toward his people. Admonished by Christ’s words, “Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do to me,” the Vilatte Institute and its generous supporters give financial help to organizations that are protective of children in spiritual or physical need.
Since its founding the Institute has also helped fledgling religious congregations and orders get started by providing some financial assistance, prayer books, and consulting services.
All contributions to the +Vilatte Institute are appreciated, acknowledged, and tax-deductible; all gifts are used to make the love of Christ present to this world of ours. You are invited to share in the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy through the work of the Vilatte Institute.
